Isle be is a ‘choose your own adventure’ piece. It could be Isle Be Dreaming, or Singing, or Napping By The Pool or Exploring Rockpools…insert your own ending to the title - you can’t go wrong.

We took three days off to go to the beach as as a family. I’m usually a conscientious family holiday avoider because with small children, the amount of extra packing, washing, baby-proofing-of-hotel-room-ing and brain space required means it never feels like that much of a ‘holiday.’ But this time? The search for sunshine beckoned. Years of holidaying only in Cold Country had left me yearning, needing, desperate, deficient in gentle waters, palm trees, scorching sunshine and warm, salt air.

…and it was everything I hoped it would be. It turns out? Sunshine holidays are easy when everyone loves the water. Master 4’s swimming improved out of sight in our afternoons at the pool (the choice of blue or yellow water slides definitely helped there - the yellow slide is ‘more excitinger’ FYI) and Master 1 still seems to have a sore face from smiling non-stop for 72 hours. My morning sickness was momentarily remedied by the sea and hubby got to soak in our happy, satisfied, magical family with no one whinging (me included!) AND enjoy long day sleeps. Everyone ate too many hot chips and blueberries and we went to bed in the evenings with the heady, heavy, intoxicating exhaustion of those who have spent their energy well.

When we came home I had to paint. Furiously, wildly, joyfully…unthinking. After almost 4 months of crippling morning sickness, those 3 days of perfect beach life had left me with visions as warm and affable as your morning cuppa and as effervescently surreal as cocktails by the pool at 4pm. We found Sunshine - literally and metaphorically - that Sunshiny joy that makes your heart feel like it will explode with excitement - that Sunshiny feeling of small children waiting for Santa in the days before Christmas…and that Sunshine? Well, it needs to be shared.

If you look carefully at this piece you’ll see hints of blueberries enjoyed with sticky fingers, pools and slides and tides and coves and if you stop for a moment you’ll just about smell a hint of that sunscreen/salt air/vegemite/ripe mango smell that signals summer in this island home we call Australia. Summer holidays for your walls.

Fine art reproductions (prints) are printed on the very best archival cotton rag or archival stretched canvas as chosen by you by a small family firm in Brisbane.

As with all new arrivals, we’d love to see you celebrate it properly. We suggest popping some champagne and taking a picture once it’s hanging on your wall.

Shipping

Free shipping worldwide (yay!). Whilst we aim to post most orders within 48 hours on business days (because weekends...you know...are a thing) there are a few exceptions...

A1 and A0 artworks are printed to order as are all stretched canvas artworks. Please allow an extra 5-10 business days for printing in addition to standard Australia Post delivery estimates. We often have things ready MUCH sooner but sometimes, our printer is overwhelmed with our orders so please be patient if your new art takes a little longer to arrive. We promise it will be worth it.

Original Artworks: We very carefully varnish originals and pack them incredibly well once they are sold. Seamus is in charge of all of that and he’s meticulous - he used to work on gas rigs so when it comes to safety and attention to detail? He doesn’t compromise. It can sometimes take him a whole day to pack an original depending on the size with his unique system so you can imagine if we sell a couple of originals all at once he gets very busy! An extra couple of days for careful packing is absolutely worth it for a safe delivery of your art, though. Expect a week or so between ordering your original and it being posted. I promise it will be worth it.

Copyright and reproductions

Purchase of any The New Devine original artwork or art product (including reproductions) does not entitle the purchaser to make further copies—the copyright remains with the artist.

Framing

Please note all prints are sold unframed.

Images above are examples only and have been included to give you a squiz at how beautiful the work looks when framed.

We produce our prints to fit standard store-bought frames but we do recommend professional framing to improve the longevity and quality of your piece.
