Our Little Love Birds collection is inspired by my children and my good friend, Kate's children. After Sacha requested I paint birds for him, Kate's son asked for a fairy wren and suddenly a collection was coming to life...

"Sacha, our eldest, is in the in-between of kindy and school and whilst excited for school, the expansive wait for it to start and for his kindy life (the only routine he’s ever known) to end is a pitifully tedious, drawn-out, heart-aching experience. The discomfort of the in-between is hard for all of us in life…but for this moment especially him. So, when he asked me to paint some happy birds, how could I say no? Kind of lovebirds. Kind of siblings. Full of love for each other and life. Maybe you recognise some lovers or children or family or friends or hope or encouragement in this collection, too."

Leo - Frankly, my favourite. A little fairy wren on a square canvas with a light aqua-blue background. This guy's little slightly-sleepy, slightly-disgruntled face and fabulous feathers are the perfect combination for me - a really magic piece. Custom framed in raw timber. Rhodes - A charming kookaburra who looks like a laid back, friendly kind of chap - much like the one that hangs out in our back yard. Custom framed in raw timber.
