This collection is about contentment. It can be easy to feel as though winter twilights are too fleeting or the days too short…or maybe you felt summer came and went too soon…Certainly for me, having a newborn has reminded me that I’m not actually in control of time. The baby runs his own schedule and it is a privilege to be able to surrender to his time, this slow time together. Although it feels like each day is so brief and I wonder if I ‘got enough done,’ I’m reminded that there will be more days, more precious moments, more joy…just different and evolving. There will be other seasons of working more…and probably seasons where I’m less content…but I keep thinking that worrying about the future or reaching for a new day or more time doesn’t make me happy. There is only contentment in staying in the now. Flowers do that effortlessly, I think. They just turn their faces up to the sun and surrender to whatever change the evening air brings. I am so excited for Sunday night’s collection - Flowers for Days. Something for everyone - new prints, new 30cm mini works on canvas, lots of new big works. Each is the sort of piece that allows you to smile to yourself and solve the world’s problems as you gaze at it. Contentment reigns.
