Abstract beach wall art to bring summer into your home.
The first piece of 2021. I’m calling it Coco after my uncle Eric who is known as ‘Coco’ (nut, not Chanel.) He’s the ultimate island hopper - designing and building his own boats for the purpose and exploring the tiny, uninhabited by humans, paradisaical islands of the pacific. His eyes are so blue they appear to reflect the sunshine on crystalline island shallows back at you and under the dark tan and rogue beard combed by the sea air, his face is kind, clever, unpretentious. A little bit boy-who-never-grew-up and a little bit Robinson Crusoe.
Perhaps the most charming thing is that quite unexpectedly, Shiloh’s intrepid exploring of the house (and subsequent awkward knocks to the head at times as he runs into things) has earned him the nickname Coco as well. Another Coco in the next generation. I can’t think of a more gentle-yet-wild-in-equal-measure name - so it seemed right to name this island piece after Coco (and it’s a bit shorter than ‘Uncle Eric the Island Hopper.’) We need to keep summer close. Not the part with the flies and the sunburn and the sand in your togs, but the heart of summer - that effervescent spark of life and hope that we feel at the start of the New Year.
This is a mindful piece - a reminder to reflect and recapture the spirit of summer amidst the every day, to let ourselves be infused with energy and excitement in our spirit even if we feel a little weary in our bones. This abstract beach wall art is perfect for seekers of joy in the every day. Art for lovers of summer, of wild places, for those who get away to windswept shores and for those who dream of such freedom, for the sun seekers, the mango eaters, the lychee peelers. Art for homes that tell the story of our hopes and dreams, not just empty coffee cups and unfolded laundry.

Artwork information
Fine art reproductions (prints) are printed on the very best archival cotton rag or archival stretched canvas as chosen by you by a small family firm in Brisbane. All of my cotton paper prints are inclusive of a 1cm white border and fit straight into standard frames or are easily custom-framed without losing any of the image, and the stretched canvas prints and originals can be put straight on the wall as they are ready to hang.
Our canvas prints come with a mirrored edge for a wrapped look or a plain edge if the background colour of the artwork is a block colour.
As with all new arrivals, we’d love to see you celebrate it properly. We suggest popping some champagne and taking a picture once it’s hanging on your wall.
We’d love to see your celebrations. You can tag us on Instagram @thenewdevine or send your snaps to us by replying to your order email.
Our favourite store-bought frames can be found on framing guide, and more framing information can be found on our FAQ page. Or, as with any question, please feel free to get in touch so we can help you perfect a room with your new art.
Shipping - We post on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Australian Standard Shipping is Free or you can choose express for $10. International flat rate shipping is $25. We post most orders on the following Tuesday or Friday, however there are some exceptions:
A1 and A0 artworks are printed to order as are all stretched canvas artworks. Please allow an extra 5-10 business days for printing in addition to standard Australia Post delivery estimates. We often have things ready MUCH sooner but sometimes, our printer is overwhelmed with our orders so please be patient if your new art takes a little longer to arrive. We promise it will be worth it.
Original Artworks: We very carefully varnish originals and pack them incredibly well once they are sold. Seamus is in charge of all of that and he’s meticulous - he used to work on gas rigs so when it comes to safety and attention to detail? He doesn’t compromise. It can sometimes take him a whole day to pack an original depending on the size with his unique system so you can imagine if we sell a couple of originals all at once he gets very busy! An extra couple of days for careful packing is absolutely worth it for a safe delivery of your art, though. Expect a week or so between ordering your original and it being posted. I promise it will be worth it.
Copyright and reproductions
Purchase of any The New Devine original artwork or art product (including reproductions) does not entitle the purchaser to make further copies—the copyright remains with the artist.
Framing
Please note all prints are sold unframed.
Images above are examples only and have been included to give you a squiz at how beautiful the work looks when framed.
We produce our prints to fit standard store-bought frames but we do recommend professional framing to improve the longevity and quality of your piece.
