I’m coming to realise that in the face of big grief and medical nightmares, life still bubbles along with the requisite joys and annoyances and smiles and laughs and mundane adulting administrivia that mercilessly (maybe mercifully!) keeps ours days full.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn one day you can receive potentially worrying medical news about your husband’s prostate cancer, your 6 year old can lose a tooth and write an endearing letter to the tooth fairy, a permission slip for cross country has to be signed, an RSVP comes through for your 5 year old’s upcoming birthday party and the painters finish restoring the studio and welcome you back to inspect.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e…and in this season I have not wanted to paint. Even though we had a holiday season over Christmas that was magical. Even though I should have been refreshed. I was not. I put it off. I flatly refused to go to the newly painted studio for reasons I can’t explain.
