Every evening as we walk upstairs to bath the children, I glimpse the glowing embers of the day from our upstairs windows. It is one of my favourite moments of the day - that brief glimpse of the dying light on the horizon - but only in winter. It is only in winter that the sky has that magic hush of lilac tones meeting the deep orange Brisbane sunset. In what is usually thought to be a bleak midwinter time, July hosts the most promising twilights and I always think, as I take in that view and try to commit it to memory, what a privilege it is to be cosy inside with my family as the night air grows cold and the house creaks affably enough, surrendering to the temperature shift. The bath and bed routine is at once both incredibly mundane and incredibly precious. These routine rhythms of the day that all roll into one in our memory. These routines that mark that our children are a day older and that the magic of childhood is fleeting - like the winter sunsets. So I try to commit the way that view makes me feel to canvas and I hope in years to come the contented, coveted, crying, constant, charming, cozy captures of this cursory, transitory time will bring us comfort, as that winter view does for me today.

Fine art reproductions (prints) are printed on the very best archival cotton rag or archival stretched canvas as chosen by you by a small family firm in Brisbane.

As with all new arrivals, we’d love to see you celebrate it properly. We suggest popping some champagne and taking a picture once it’s hanging on your wall.

We’d love to see your celebrations. You can tag us on Instagram @thenewdevine or send your snaps to us by replying to your order email.

More info on framing (including our favourite store-bought frames) in our Shipping and T&Cs section available in the footer menu and on the blog. Or, as with any question, please feel free to get in touch so we can help you perfect a room with your new art.

Shipping

Free shipping worldwide (yay!). Whilst we aim to post most orders within 48 hours on business days (because weekends...you know...are a thing) there are a few exceptions...

A1 and A0 artworks are printed to order as are all stretched canvas artworks. Please allow an extra 5-10 business days for printing in addition to standard Australia Post delivery estimates. We often have things ready MUCH sooner but sometimes, our printer is overwhelmed with our orders so please be patient if your new art takes a little longer to arrive. We promise it will be worth it.

Original Artworks: We very carefully varnish originals and pack them incredibly well once they are sold. Seamus is in charge of all of that and he’s meticulous - he used to work on gas rigs so when it comes to safety and attention to detail? He doesn’t compromise. It can sometimes take him a whole day to pack an original depending on the size with his unique system so you can imagine if we sell a couple of originals all at once he gets very busy! An extra couple of days for careful packing is absolutely worth it for a safe delivery of your art, though. Expect a week or so between ordering your original and it being posted. I promise it will be worth it.

Copyright and reproductions

Purchase of any The New Devine original artwork or art product (including reproductions) does not entitle the purchaser to make further copies—the copyright remains with the artist.

Framing

Please note all prints are sold unframed.

Images above are examples only and have been included to give you a squiz at how beautiful the work looks when framed.

We produce our prints to fit standard store-bought frames but we do recommend professional framing to improve the longevity and quality of your piece.
