Limited Edition of 50 prints only. Once a size is sold out no more will be printed. Each piece will come signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity. (Only paper prints are signed on the print though all are numbered with a certificate.)
Today is a bit grim and quiet by the beach. A few walkers brave the rain and bitter sea breeze but even their glum figures are colourless, turned inward, slouched against the weather and silently screaming to get their exercise over and done with to get home. It’s a stark contrast to the casual coffee walkers in bright athleisure gear and children in frolicking play clothes we usually spot on a Sunday. The sky is just flat grey today…a nothing shade. Not a magical-there-might-come-a-rainbow colour. Just a neglected blur of non-colour. Like this morning’s sunrise forgot to bring colour at all…but most days in the studio the kite surfers sail so close to the shore that it looks like their parachutes will fly straight through my front room. So many of them flying about at dizzying speed in flurries of vibrant, kaleidoscopic rainbow like a million butterflies unboxed at once. So many coloured kites one can barely see the sky. That’s my experience of Spring in the studio so far and it is thrilling and fascinating to watch the agile, adrenaline-rushing dance these surfers undertake. A complex choreography with the wind that leaves me breathless with delight. There’s something powerfully moody and uplifting about this one - it really says something about the flight, delight, persistence and struggle of our souls in this life and about the sheer daring of the kite surfers who float and fly so close to hope and fear and safety and the certain death that lives perilously close on the knife edge of ‘feeling utterly alive.’
Dylan is my grown up nephew. Quiet but animated. Sturdy and sure of himself and unflappable. A total homebody yet has travelled overseas over and over to get the best education he can. One of those salt-of-the-earth, help-anybody-with-all-he-has types. He has an uncanny knack of turning up to help without being asked - he just always seems to know how to be in the right place at the right time. I hope my boys grow up to be like him.
This colourful, vibrant abstract floral painting from celebrated Australian artist Claire Devine is just the spring refresh your home needs. It is a bold and unapologetically optimistic contemporary artwork for choosers of joy.

Artwork information
Fine art reproductions (prints) are printed on the very best archival cotton rag or archival stretched canvas as chosen by you by a small family firm in Brisbane. All of my cotton paper prints are inclusive of a 1cm white border and fit straight into standard frames or are easily custom-framed without losing any of the image, and the stretched canvas prints and originals can be put straight on the wall as they are ready to hang.
Our canvas prints come with a mirrored edge for a wrapped look or a plain edge if the background colour of the artwork is a block colour.
As with all new arrivals, we’d love to see you celebrate it properly. We suggest popping some champagne and taking a picture once it’s hanging on your wall.
We’d love to see your celebrations. You can tag us on Instagram @thenewdevine or send your snaps to us by replying to your order email.
Our favourite store-bought frames can be found on framing guide, and more framing information can be found on our FAQ page. Or, as with any question, please feel free to get in touch so we can help you perfect a room with your new art.
Shipping - We post on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Australian Standard Shipping is Free or you can choose express for $10. International flat rate shipping is $25. We post most orders on the following Tuesday or Friday, however there are some exceptions:
A1 and A0 artworks are printed to order as are all stretched canvas artworks. Please allow an extra 5-10 business days for printing in addition to standard Australia Post delivery estimates. We often have things ready MUCH sooner but sometimes, our printer is overwhelmed with our orders so please be patient if your new art takes a little longer to arrive. We promise it will be worth it.
Original Artworks: We very carefully varnish originals and pack them incredibly well once they are sold. Seamus is in charge of all of that and he’s meticulous - he used to work on gas rigs so when it comes to safety and attention to detail? He doesn’t compromise. It can sometimes take him a whole day to pack an original depending on the size with his unique system so you can imagine if we sell a couple of originals all at once he gets very busy! An extra couple of days for careful packing is absolutely worth it for a safe delivery of your art, though. Expect a week or so between ordering your original and it being posted. I promise it will be worth it.
Copyright and reproductions
Purchase of any The New Devine original artwork or art product (including reproductions) does not entitle the purchaser to make further copies—the copyright remains with the artist.
Framing
Please note all prints are sold unframed.
Images above are examples only and have been included to give you a squiz at how beautiful the work looks when framed.
We produce our prints to fit standard store-bought frames but we do recommend professional framing to improve the longevity and quality of your piece.
